Good news to Korea lovers and theater enthusiasts! Korea's longest running and most popular non-verbal show, Cookin' Nanta is ready to sizzle here in Manila for a limited season at Solaire Resort and Casino's The Theatre from November 10 – 15, 2015.

Featuring the story of four crazy chefs, who were given the task of preparing a wedding banquet in just an hour, Cookin' Nanta is based on the rhythms of the traditional Korean percussion quartet 'Samulnori.' The word 'Nanta' (난타) literally means “wild beating" or "to strike relentlessly”in Korean. Hence, the main theme of the show is to use kitchen utensils such as knives, spoons, pots and pans as instruments in a wonderful musical frenzy of reckless rhythms and percussion. This cooking show is accompanied by some acrobatics, comedy, magic tricks, and pantomime, which makes it all the more exciting for the audience.
Running 90 minutes long, the highlights of the show include a wedding ceremony, a dumpling challenge, and a water drum sequence, which have delighted audiences from different parts of the world. The show is open to all and doesn't have age restrictions.
The show premiered in Korea in October 1997 at Hoam Art Hall in Seoul. Since then, it has become the most popular show in Korea, with the record of having the largest number of audience in the country's theater history. It also received an award for Best Performance at the 1999 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it made its international debut, and has also achieved international recognition in Broadway, the United States, Italy, Japan, and Singapore among many others.
If you're in Korea, you can still catch Nanta in exclusive theaters in Seoul (Jeongdong, Myeongdong, & Hongdae), and in Jeju for around 60,000 won for VIP seats, 50,000 won for S seats, and 40,000 won for A seats (Check out HERE for more details). But if you're here in Manila, why not take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, and book your tickets now? :)
