Why 'Sublimeholic'?
The word 'Sublime' is a word that means having the quality of greatness, something that impresses the mind or inspires awe.
To me, it's a word that reminds me of my college days. Whenever me and my friends would be teasing each other, we'd sometimes come up with superlatives to describe ourselves. Hence, when someone says 'beautiful', my friend and I would say 'sublime'. So since then, it has been a word that describes beauty, and greatness beyond all possibility to me.
'-Holic' on the other hand is a suffix that denotes addiction to something or being enthusiastically devoted to a particular thing or activity.
When combined, these two becomes my own coined term that simply describes my fondness, and sometimes obsession, to anything beautiful, great, and amazing.
What's a 'Wander Bubble'?
I consider this blog as a place where my mind wanders (like a bubble! Didn't you ever thought of floating inside one?) and casually go to different 'places', or in this case, different subjects of interest.
This is my 'happy place', and my 'breather' when life gets crammed by deadlines, meetings and presentations.
What inspired you to start this blog?
I've been blogging since 2003, but it was mostly about personal experiences and my life as a student. I was using several platforms then such as livejournal, tabulas, multiply, and xanga (most of which are now defunct).
When I started to work though, it became hard to blog on a regular phase so I wasn't able to maintain most of my accounts anymore.
Just recently, I thought of going back to the things I love doing in order to occasionally escape the stressful environment of the corporate world, as well as to impart something to the world. Hence, this blog was born.
What do you blog about?
I write about things I love like make-up, fashion, music, and movies,
I write about contests I'd join or recommend.
I write about tourism, places I want to visit or have been to like South Korea.
I write about products, people, and places that fascinate me.
I also share my travel experiences and adventures as a fangirl of so many things and so many people/groups [*insert* Lee Min Ho, Kim Hyun Joong, Song Joong Ki, Hyun Bin, Ji Chang Wook, Kim Jae Joong, JYJ, Kim Soo Hyun, Super Junior, CNBLUE, BTS, BTOB, Exo, and Infinite]
Occasionally, I may write about blog customization tips too
Why South Korea?
Well, I think growing up watching Korean dramas and listening to Kpop music played a huge role in my fascination about Korea. I think my exposure to them made it so easy for me to relate to their culture, that's why when I first visited there in 2013, I felt right at home. I was simply blown away by its captivating landscapes, wonderful people, and colorful culture. I was amazed at how they were able to preserve their cultural heritage while managing to keep up with the advancements of the modern world, and I simply wanted to see more.
I do love my own country, the Philippines, just the same, and I hope (and plan) to blog about wonderful places here as well :) Actually, I hope my country will be able to promote its beautiful destinations the way Korea does. :)
